Nail salon event will help animals

For the Dogs Animal Rescue and Chasen Perfection Nail Gallery will have a benefit Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at 650 Youngstown-Poland Road.

Mini-manicures and mini-pedicures will be offered, and the proceeds will help For the Dogs, a nonprofit animal rescue group, save dogs from the pound and help pay for a shelter building.

Also featured will be a 50-50 raffle, basket auction and a bake.

Scrapbookers to meet

Magical Memories Scrapbookers will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Salem Public Library’s Quaker Room, 821 E. State St.

Waterworth programs are planned for June

SALEM

Salem City Parks and the public library will present a series of free programs at Waterworth Memorial Park at 2 p.m. each Tuesday afternoon during June.

Each week a new program will be presented to increase knowledge and enjoyment of the park’s offerings.

Those attending are to meet at Pavilion 9, which is west of the main entrance, accessible from the intersection of East School Street and East Eighth Street.

The series will begin Tuesday with “A Walk on the Nature Trail: What Will You Find There?”

Wear comfortable shoes and remember to take binoculars and cameras for the educational programs.
