Fitch's Tolich wins Division I discus title
COLUMBUS
Fitch senior Ali Tolich won the Division I discus title at Saturday's state meet at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
Tolich, the defending state champion in the event, won with a throw of 157 feet, 2 inches — more than two feet better than last year's winning throw. Brecksville-Broadview Hts.' Beckie Famurewa was second at 138-9.
Tolich will compete in the shot put beginning at 3 p.m. She is also the defending state champion in that event.
In Division II action Saturday, Liberty's 4x100 relay finished second, as did Lakeview junior Lauren Schattinger in the 100. Schattinger also placed fourth in the 200.
