Two men indicted in death of teen

Indictments have been handed up against two men accused of gunning down a teenager on the city’s East Side earlier this year.

Curtis Jones, 18, Maplewood Avenue, and Devante Gilmore, 18, Brockway Avenue, have been indicted in the death of De’Vail Fleeton, 16, who was shot and killed as he attempted to run from attackers in the Plaza View Apartments. Jones and Gilmore are in Mahoning County jail.

Jones and Gilmore both have been charged with murder with a firearm specification.

Witnesses told police that five black males wearing black, hooded sweat shirts and red ball caps chased De’Vail on March 26 from the Plaza View Apartments across Stewart Avenue and McGuffey Road, firing at the teen as he ran. After he fell, the suspects ran back into Plaza View.

De’Vail, the father of an infant child, had been shot once in the back.

The following people also were indicted by the Mahoning County grand jury:

Dale Cross III, 33, Ohio Avenue, McDonald, possession of cocaine.

Mark Sudano, 49, Hoyle Road, Berlin Center, illegal possession of drug documents, possession of drugs and possession of drugs.

Jeffrey Brown, 18, Choice Court, illegal possession of a weapon and intimidation of a victim in a criminal case.

Larry Taylor Jr., 32, Stadium Drive, Boardman, two counts of vandalism.

David Hospodor, 32, East Prospect Street, Girard, possession of cocaine.

Vincent Cappelli, 31, Wakefield Avenue, failure to comply with the signal of a police officer and tampering with ID numbers to conceal identity of vehicle or part.

Lisha Roberts, 44, Castalia Avenue, receiving stolen property and theft.

Eric Robbins, 19, West Ravenwood Avenue, possession of heroin.

Edmund Kist, 43, West Boardman Street, theft.

Ronnelle Ferrell, 26, West Hylda Avenue, failure to comply with order or signal of police officer.

Nicholas Davis, 32, Wolosyn Circle, Boardman, possession of heroin.

James Kennedy, 24, East Marion Avenue, illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto grounds of detention facility or institution.

Michael Anania, 51, Flo-Lor Drive, possession of cocaine.

Darnell Jones, 25, East Judson Avenue, improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle.

Jamel Smith, 18, Kimmel Street, felonious assault and improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle.

Gary Robinson, 43, Samuel Street, breaking and entering and possessing criminal tools.

Jacob Merchant, 27, Hillman Street, breaking and entering and possessing criminal tools.

Boston Walker, 21, Southern Boulevard, improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation, illegal possession of a firearm and possession of cocaine.

Dwayne Boone, 22, Lemans Drive, Boardman, improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation, illegal possession of a firearm and possession of cocaine.

Kevin Johnson, 23, Truesdale Avenue, improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation, illegal possession of a firearm and possession of cocaine.

Veronica Morgan, 19, Mistletoe Avenue, assault.
