Police: Pa. man found dead was stealing metal

MOUNTAINTOP, Pa. (AP) — Officials say a man whose body was found near a vacant industrial building in northeastern Pennsylvania died while trying to steal metal from utility lines.

Investigators say the body of 44-year-old Mervin Rohrbaugh was found Wednesday at the base of a utility pole in the Crestwood Industrial Park in Wright Township, Luzerne County.

Township police Chief Joe Jacob says it appears the Kingston man touched a live wire and fell.

A missing person report had been filed for Rohrbaugh on Saturday.
