Legacy Academy in Youngstown closing

YOUNGSTOWN — Citing declining enrollment, the board of directors of Legacy Academy for Leaders and the Arts has opted to close the school’s doors at the end of the school year.

The school has 52 students enrolled this year compared to 250 in past years. The school in Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church on Oak Hill Avenue has been in operation for 10 years.

It started as a kindergarten-through-10th-grade school and later scaled back to kindergarten through sixth grade.
