LaBrae's Elkins win state long jump title
COLUMBUS
LaBrae senior Andre Elkins jumped a personal-best 22 feet, 5 3/4 inches to win a Division II state long jump title at Friday's meet at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
Elkins' jump was 6 3/4 inches better than the runner-up, Minerva's Kyle Crum.
In other early results, Salem senior Mike King took fourth in the shot put and Struthers' Keary Iarussi was 11th. McDonald's boys 4x800 relay team placed ninth.
On the girls side, Girard junior Ashley Wagner placed fourth in the high jump and Newton Falls' Destiny Prusky was fifth. Lowellville's 4x800 relay placed 12th.
