RADNOR, Pa.

Police say a 45-foot-long tree limb fell and struck a man on a nature trail in suburban Philadelphia, killing him.

Radnor police Supt. William Colarulo says a teenager heard the huge branch come down around 3 p.m. Thursday. The teen then found the man, who had been sitting on a bench underneath the tree along the Radnor Trail.

The man could not be resuscitated. Police have not released the name of the 65-year-old victim, who lived in Devon.

It was not immediately clear what caused the limb to fall. The Philadelphia area just had a three-day heat wave, and Thursday was sunny and warm.
