A 27-year-old Warren woman who stabbed her 11-year-old son in the forearm May 21 in their Olive Street Northeast home has pleaded guilty to reduced charges and was sentenced to six months in the Trumbull County jail.

Prosecutors in Warren Municipal Court amended the charge against Lashawn Reynolds from felonious assault to misdmeanor domestic violence, to which Reynolds pleaded guilty Tuesday.

Judge Thomas Gysegem gave Reynolds credit for 10 days previously served in the county jail and added 170 more.

Reynolds’ son called his grandmother to tell her Reynolds had called him into a room and stabbed him “without provocation,” according to police.

Police said Reynolds appeared to be intoxicated and “wobbling while standing” during her arrest a short time later.

The boy’s grandmother took possession of the boy after the incident, and he received stitches for the cut, which Reynolds made with a knife from her pocket.

Reynolds was ordered to pay $186 in court costs and fines.
