River death of Ohio man thought to be accident

FRANKLIN, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say foul play is not suspected in the death of a man whose body was recovered this week from the Great Miami River in southwest Ohio.

The Warren County Coroner’s office says 18-year-old Cody Pressler, of Franklin Township, was last seen May 26.

A coroner’s investigator tells the Middletown Journal authorities suspect Pressler drowned three nights later, on Sunday, around the time a cry for help was reported by a nearby resident.

Chief Investigator Doyle Burke says it appears that Pressler fell into the river by accident. He says nothing in preliminary autopsy results indicates suicide.

Franklin Township fire crews recovered the body Tuesday. The coroner is still awaiting toxicology results.
