FOOD SALES AND DINNERS

WEDNESDAY

Southington United Methodist Church, state Route 305 at 534, will have a chicken dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. The menu includes a quarter chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw, homemade desserts and beverage. Meals are $7.50 for adults. Chicken tender meals for children 4 to 10 are $4; those 3 and under eat free. For carryouts call 330-898-2156, and meals will be ready for pickup.

THURSDAY

St. Michael Orthodox Church, 125 Steel St., Youngstown, serves homemade Chinese lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursdays. This week’s menu will feature soy sauce pork loin or shanghai chicken. The cost of the meal is $6. No reservations are necessary.

Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will have a takeout chicken dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out. Meals include stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes, green beans and a brownie. The cost is $7. Drive through and pick up a dinner.

FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $5 a dozen. Orders should be placed from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Orders are in advance only. This will be the last sale until September.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Walk-in orders will be available. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. This will be the last sale until September.

VFW Post 9571, 11397 Ellsworth Road, Ellsworth, will have an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Also available will be four-piece chicken, chicken fingers or shrimp with french fries or macaroni and cheese. The cost is $7.50 for adults and $7 for seniors.

SUNDAY

Auxiliary of VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve breakfasts of eggs, sausage or ham, hash browns, pancakes, freedom toast, toast, and coffee or tea from 8 a.m. to noon. Meals are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.
