Shark Week (9 p.m., Discovery Channel): It would be great to “live every week like it’s Shark Week,” as Tracy Morgan once suggested on “30 Rock.” Alas, that’s not always possible. Hey, but we can definitely rise to the occasion every summer as the fin-filled celebration returns to our screens. The 24th annual Shark Week introduces funnyman Andy Samberg as its host and “Chief Shark Officer.” The week’s first new special is “Great White Invasion,” which has scientists studying why great white sharks, in various sites around the world, seem to be coming closer to shore and swimming among unsuspecting humans.
“True Blood” (9 p.m., HBO): Isn’t it neat that “True Blood” continues to be oh so suspenseful? You just never know when the characters are going to confront danger — or rip their clothes off.
“The Marriage Ref” (10 p.m., NBC): A wife is angry at her husband for his horrible habit of chewing on the remote control. Our suggestion? Industrial-grade hot sauce.
“Falling Skies” (10 p.m., NBC): We continue to be amazed by Noah Wyle’s dramatic transformation from mellow Dr. Carter (on “ER”) to an alien-fighting macho man. Dude can act.
