Miss McGarry to be bride of Mr. Monstrola

Carmen and Liz McGarry of Boardman are announcing the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Shannon E. McGarry of Poland, to Mark D. Monstrola, also of Poland, son of Donald and Joanne Monstrola of Pittsburgh.

The couple have chosen a date in September for the ceremony, which will take place at Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church.

The reception will be at Antone’s Banquet Centre. Invitations will be issued for both.

Miss McGarry received a bachelor’s degree in nuclear medicine from Kent State University. She is pursuing a master’s degree in health-care administration from Youngstown State University and is a nuclear-medicine technologist at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

Mr. Monstrola earned a bachelor’s degree in meteorology from Penn State University. He is the morning-show meteorologist at WFMJ-TV 21.

The prospective groom was recently named “Groom of the Year” by Brides.com. He was chosen from thousands of candidates nationwide after people voted on the website for their favorite groom.
