Corlls cruise into 50 years of marriage

The 50th wedding anniversary of former Austintown residents Paul R. and Vivian M. Corll of Fort Lauderdale will be celebrated Aug. 5 during an evening dinner with their family followed by an eight-day cruise to the Caribbean the next week.

Mr. Corll is a graduate of Fitch High School and Stetson and Ohio universities. Mrs. Corll, who holds a doctorate, is a graduate of Stetson, Ohio and Capella universities. Both are retired teachers from the Broward County School System of Florida.

They are members of the Ohio and Mahoning County genealogical societies, Canfield Historical Society, Ohio Palatine Immigrants to America and Austintown Fitch Alumni Association. They are editors of the Corll Cousins Publication.

The Corlls own the old pre-Civil War homestead on Kirk Road in Austintown, Paul’s family and his cousins sold their farmland, which is now Austintown Township Park.

Mr. Corll and the former Vivian M. Morgan were married Aug. 5, 1961, in Savannah, Ga. The couple have two daughters, Helen M. Corll and Mary E. Corll, both of Fort Lauderdale.

One of the couple’s favorite pastimes is cruising, their first being a honeymoon cruise to Nassau. Their anniversary cruise will be their 85th.
