YOUNGSTOWN

That shooting took place about two miles west of the first South Side shooting.

The victim, Demetrius A. Lockett, 25, of East Florida Avenue, was not cooperative Friday night when police tried to talk to him at St. Elizabeth Health Center. only that a man about 25 years old shot him after asking for a cigarette.

Meanwhile, Lawrence A. Davis, 57, of Lenox Avenue on the South Side suffered a serious accidental gunshot wound to the stomach at 7:57 p.m. Friday while moving items from his home.

Davis was loading boxes from the house onto a trailer when he dropped a box onto the trailer and a .22-caliber rifle inside the box went off.
