Mill Creek MetroParks Farm sponsored its annual Movie Under the Stars July 16 with a pig as the star of the night. The film for the family-friendly evening was “Babe - The Gallant Pig,” with the door of the farm’s barn serving as a giant movie screen.

As a treat, the farm provided popcorn for movie watchers and the farm’s barns were also open for attendees to view the animals before the movie.

Agriculture Facilities Manager Brenda Markley welcomed the guests to the feature presentation.

“Welcome to our Movie Under the Stars. We hope you enjoy “Babe - The Gallant Pig.” We feel it goes with the theme of being here at the farm tonight,” Markley said.

The farm also offered a gift table as people entered. Items included farm animal figures, glow in the dark items, tractors and temporary tattoos. The table will be available on the weekends during operating hours and will also be open during special events.

“This is a great family event,” said Carolyn Pofok, director of recreation and events. “It’s family-friendly and the kids are having fun and everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather.”
