A Mahoning County grand jury handed up an indictment against an 18-year-old Youngstown man reportedly involved in the 2010 fatal shooting of a man in Campbell.

Dreon A. Williams, 18, of Eliot Lane on Youngstown’s East Side, is charged with murder, attempted murder, felonious assault with firearm specifications and tampering with evidence in the shooting death of Anthony Harrison and the wounding of another man.

Harrison, 20, of Chambers Street, and a friend were walking home from a church festival at 10:15 p.m. Aug. 6, 2010, on Tremble Avenue near 13th Street. His friend was shot in the leg, and police have said the motive likely was robbery.

Williams’ brother, Dionte Robinson, 19, also of Eliot Lane, was indicted in the slaying May 26.

The grand jury also handed up an indictment against Patrell M. Scott, 21, of Park Vista Drive, in connection with the death of his 20-year-old estranged girlfriend.

Scott is charged with felonious assault, involuntary manslaughter with firearm specifications and tampering with evidence. Police said Scott shot Melesia Day in the neck June 23 at Day’s home on Tyrell Street on the West Side. Day was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center where she died days later.

A 34-year-old Youngstown man also was indicted by the grand jury. Newell Spann, of Helena Avenue, was charged with rape, kidnapping and aggravated burglary. Spann was arrested July 23 after a 36-year-old woman accused him of raping her shortly after she came home about 11:20 p.m.
