Cars burned after phone threat

YOUNGSTOWN

Firefighters extinguished blazes in two cars behind 1017 Bentley Ave. on the city’s East Side at 12:20 a.m. Thursday and referred the matter to the arson investigation unit.

The homeowner said his son received a telephone call Wednesday from a man who threatened to burn his car if a debt wasn’t paid.

The house and garage suffered minor damage.
