Champion Flashes
The A League Champion Lady Flashes (9-10s) will play in the OGSO state championship game on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Moyer Fields in Randolph Township, Portage County. The Lady Flashes (20-0) will play Grafton. The Flashes defeated Garrettsville 13-1 and Keystone 10-1 to qualify for the championship game. Saturday’s title game is the second straight season Champion has played in the final.

PI&I Express 8, Mahoning Valley Knights 0 — Matt Shelton struck out seven and allowed five hits in the win for the Express. Jason Martin had a double and three RBI for the Express, who took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series with Mahoning Valley.
NABF Regional
Youngstown Bombers are the host team for the NABF Major Division Regional at Pemberton/Donnell Park and Boardman High School’s field. Yanek Chiropractic is the other local team in the field, which also features Ohio Fightin’ Titans (Westlake), Portage South Black Squirrels (Akron), Akron Lasiks, Berea Blue Sox and Pittsburgh River Bandits. The champion of this tournament advances to the NABF World Series in Louisville, Ky.
