Girard neighbors fear a third night of fires

GIRARD — After two nights and two separate house fires near South Market Street street Tuesday and Wednesday night, neighbors now fear falling asleep.

"My son is scared to fall asleep," Fanny Chacon said of her 11-year-old son.

Tuesday night's fire at a vacant house at 304 Market St. started at about 12 a.m. according to the fire department.

Wednesday's fire, another vacant home this time along along Lizzie Street, began less than 24 hours later at about 8 p.m.

Residents described the second fire as much more intense.
