City police are investigating more acts of gun violence.
An 18-year-old man and 19-year-old woman, both from the South Side, were sitting outside their home just after midnight Tuesday when they heard a woman crying for help. The couple noticed a man and woman inside a car arguing at Irma Avenue and Everett Street.
The couple told police they asked the man and woman if they were OK, and the man responded by calling them a vulgar name then firing about three shots from a handgun in their general direction.
The couple ran home, dialed 911, and the shooter got back in the car and fled.
A 54-year-old Republic Avenue woman told police someone tried to shoot her while she was in her home late Monday night.
The woman said she was standing near a south front window in her home at 11:19 p.m., then moved over near a couch when she heard about four gunshots and realized the front window had two bullet holes in it. The area around the window also had been hit by gunfire.
The woman told police she believes someone looking for her teen son is responsible for the shooting.
A 42-year-old South Side man told police he was robbed at gunpoint late Monday while trying to sell car parts to a man in the 1500 block of Glenwood Avenue.
According to police reports, the man made arrangements to meet another man to buy rims and tires, but when he arrived at the Glenwood location just before 10 p.m. the man pointed a gun at him and demanded the merchandise.
