Car shot up in Trumbull Homes apartments

Barely 12 hours after one man was shot in the calf in the Trumbull Homes apartments, police received a report of more gunfire there — this time involving a man who said his car got shot up.

An 18-year-old city man said he was inside his car in the 1900 block of Hazelwood Avenue Southeast at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday when multiple gunshots were fired at the car. No injuries were reported.

Multiple people fired the shots into the car’s front and back windows and doors, then ran east, the victim said. Five shell casings were recovered at the scene.

A 24-year-old man reported being shot in the calf at 2 a.m. Tuesday about a block away from the afternoon incident.
