NEWTON FALLS

General Assembly Church of God at Newton Falls will sponsor its fourth annual Bluegrass/Gospel Music Festival from 2 to 8 p.m. Aug. 6 on church grounds, 2021 E. River Road.

Bands scheduled to perform are Joe Click & Friends, Kristen Blankenship, Matheson Family Pride (featuring a special appearance by Mitchee Meadors and his dueling fiddle), Limited Edition, Margaret Gilmore & Ladies, and The Singing Weavers. More bands will be added to the lineup.

Well-known local bluegrass personality Charlie Lape will emcee the event.

The bands will perform outdoors at the church pavilion. Concert-goers should bring lawn chairs or blankets.

Some seating will be open under the pavilion, and tents will be available in case of rain.

Food and refreshments will be sold, and there will be a bounce house, snow-cones, cotton candy and activities for families and children.

Admission will be on a donation basis at the entrance, but a recommendation of at least $5 per adult is suggested, with youths admitted free.
