A main waterline break near Northside Hospital left much of the North Side without water Saturday.

The break happened before 7 a.m., and crews were hoping to restore water by 9 p.m., a water department spokesperson said.

The spokesperson was not sure what caused the break. Crews were still on the scene early in the evening.

Adopt-a-pet day

Animals in need of homes will be available during an Adopt-a-pet Community Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the GFS Marketplace, 2725 Niles-Cortland Road.

Dogs and cats from the Trumbull County Animal Welfare League will be present.

There will be free hot dogs and drinks.
