METRO DIGEST || Expect turnpike delays Monday, Tuesday

Turnpike delays

Berea

The Ohio Turnpike Commission will put up a rolling roadblock Monday and Tuesday. The road block, called a traffic drag, will allow road crews to erect a natural gas pipeline over the Ohio Turnpike near the exit for state Route 8, according to a news release. The road block, which will slow traffic to between 5 and 10 miles per hour for about 45 minutes, will begin about 20 miles from the work zone. Due to the size of the required equipment, traffic will be reduced to one lane at the construction site. On Monday, the road block will be in the westbound lane from midnight to 12:45 a.m. beginning at the Portage Service Plaza.

On Tuesday, the road block will continue in the eastbound lane at the listed time beginning near the Strongsville-Cleveland interchange 161.

Long delays are expected, officials said.
