Staff report

LOWELLVILLE

The Ohio Department of Transportation will have a public meeting at 5 p.m. Aug. 8 at Coitsville Township Administration Building, 711 McCartney Road, to discuss the proposed improvement to the U.S. Route 422/state Route 616 intersection in Coitsville.

The meeting will focus on the social, economic and environmental impacts of the project, according to a news release. The project would involved improvement of the existing curb on all four approaches to the intersection, replacement of one electric traffic control device and two bridges that carry those roads over Dry Run.

The $1.4 million project is scheduled for construction in Spring 2013 and will require the closure of both Routes 422 and 616 for about 90 days, but not at the same time.
