On June 18, area residents welcomed the summer with family-friendly fun at Boardman Park’s first Family Night in the Park of the season.
The event featured an entire evening of entertainment, with the Classic Cruisers Band delighting crowds at the Maag Outdoor Theater as families explored the activities offered by local companies.
Armstrong Cable was on hand with supplies to create a coffee filter butterfly craft, while the Green Team helped guests make a bird feeder from repurposed plastic bottles. The Ohio Division of Wildlife let kids explore taxidermy Ohio animals and create animal tracks in sand.
Calvary Baptist Church provided the face painting, cornhole and various lawn games.
Dawn Adams enjoyed activities with her grandkids, Brice and Brooke Adams.
“It’s a fun weekend activity and it’s a beautiful night to enjoy it. We really love spending time together at fun events like this,” Dawn Adams said.
Mary Anne Miklas settled in to watch the movie “Over the Hedge” that evening with her grandkids, Emily and Adam Varso.
“I’m a long-time lover of the park and I only live about five minutes away. I’m retired now and I work here part-time, so the grandkids always know what is going on and they love it here. The possibilities for fun are really endless at Boardman Park,” shared Miklas.
