Wing Fest will go on Saturday as scheduled

Police and fire officials from across the Valley are reporting that the storm has knocked out power in various locations and that many streetlights are down following the late-afternoon storm that swept through the area.

In Youngstown, the Wing Fest at the Covelli Centre was hard-hit by winds and tents were toppled. The festival was closed for tonight. However, it will reopen at noon Saturday with the car show, and Michael Stanley will go on as planned, according to event organizers.

“It is with regret and apologies that I announce we are canceling this evening’s performance of The Clarks and Wing Fest,” said Covelli Centre marketing manager in a statement tonight.
