R. Kelly released from hospital

CHICAGO

A spokesman for R. Kelly says the R&B star is out of the hospital after throat surgery earlier this week.

Spokesman Allan Mayer said Thursday that the 44-year-old singer left Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and is recuperating at home.

Mayer says it isn’t clear when the star might be well enough to resume performing.

The Grammy-winning singer complained of throat pain and was rushed to the hospital Tuesday. The same day, surgeons drained an abscess on one of his tonsils.
