Give your opinion on Medicare, SS proposals at Sunday town hall meeting

YOUNGSTOWN

A town-hall meeting to implore Congress to protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday at Union Baptist Church, 528 Lincoln Ave., with U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Avon.

The event is sponsored by the Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative in partnership with the Service Employees International Union’s Fight for a Fair Economy Campaign, the Ohio Organizing Collaborative and the church. Also expected to attend are state Rep. Bob Hagan of Youngstown,

D-60th, and state Sen. Capri Cafaro of Liberty, D-32nd.

Seniors, parents and clergy are urged to attend and ask Brown to commit to protect the interests of

senior citizens, disabled people and children.
