Frank fifth, Miller ninth at Ohio Open

Two Valley golfers finished in the top 10 of the 88th Ohio Open, which concluded Wednesday at Weymouth Country Club.

Garrett Frank of Austintown finished tied for fifth place with a three-round total of 8-under-par 208. He had rounds of 69-71-68.

Also, Dennis Miller of Canfield and Mill Creek Golf Course tied for ninth with a 54-hole total of 6-under 210. He had rounds of 68-71-71. Miller’s 68 on the opening day had him tied for third place.

Other golfers from the area included Larry Manski of Salem (representing Portage Country Club), who tied for 34th at 2-over 218 (70-74-74), and Jon Jones of Warren, representing Youngstown Country Club, who was tied for 44th at 3-over 219 (71-74-74).

Amateur Anthony Conn and Ryan Stocke, both of Boardman, tied for 52nd place at 5-over 221. Conn shot 75-70-76 and Stocke, representing Tippecanoe Country Club, shot 72-70-79.

Boo Timko of Canfield High School, Andy Santor of Youngstown, Joe Santisi of Boardman and Brenton Gadson of Warren also competed but did not make the 36-hole cut.
