8 teens advance from Tam O'Shanter to Greatest finals

More than 40 area teens braved scorching heat at Tam O' Shanter Golf Course today to compete in the final qualifier for the Greatest Junior Golfer of the Valley competition.

Girls qualifiers are:

Maria Mancini 70 (Poland)

Haylee Harford 76 (Warren JFK, Leavittsburg)

Renee Cantrell 77 (Sharpsville)

Hayleigh Guerrero 88 (Howland)

Boys qualifiers are:

Lucas Clarke 71 (Mercer)

Shane Eichenlaub 76 (Mohawk High, New Castle)

Ricky Clark 77 (Mooney, Poland)

Ryan Fowler 77 (Warren JFK, Howland)

Clark and Fowler won a playoff over New Castle's Bradley Thorton

Qualifying from the two prior events at Tamer Win and Diamondback courses are:

GIRLS: Jacinta Pikunas, Christina Cooper, Kelly Fleming, Annie McGlone, Kelsey Teaberry, Giana DiBenedetto, Lianna Tucci and Gina DePasquale.

BOYS: Brandon Pluchinsky, Dominic Carano, Max Pikunas, Joe Benson, Dominic Patella, James LaPolla, Joey Canann and Bart Wyss.

The 24 teens will play in a single-round championship event to be played July 31 at Trumbull Country Club.
