2 custom 1968 Chevys stolen during Columbus car show

COLUMBUS AP) — The owners of two 1968 classic cars worth tens of thousands of dollars say someone stole the customized vehicles from hotel parking lots in suburban Columbus during a recent car show.

The Columbus Dispatch reports the owners planned to display their metallic blue Chevrolet Camaro and metallic burgundy Chevelle two weekends ago at the Goodguys PPG Nationals at the Ohio Expo Center. They found the cars missing July 10 from lots at a Best Western and a neighboring Clarion Hotel north of downtown Columbus.

Columbus police put the value of the Camaro at $50,000 and the Chevelle at $30,000.

The owners have put information about the cars online and sent fliers to custom auto suppliers. They’re asking anyone with information to contact Columbus police.
