Serbian Day picnic features food, music

The 79th annual Serbian Day Picnic will begin at noon Sunday at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave. Food will include chicken paprikash with dumplings, spit-roasted lamb and pork, Serbian rice with chicken, Cevapcici (grilled sausage served with Serbian potato salad), kolbasi and sauerkraut sandwiches, homemade donuts and apple strudel.

Libby’s Tamburitzans will perform in the Serbian Hall from noon to 3 p.m. and Radost will play in the pavilion from 4 to 9 p.m. Admission is $3. For more information, call 330-550-6628.

Andrew Schuller of the President’s Own U.S. Marine Band and Sgt. First Class Nicholas Althouse of the U.S. Army Field Band. Both men are graduates of Salem High School.
