Hickory's Matt Bell becomes YSU's first 2012 commitment

The Youngstown State football team picked up its first recruit of the 2012 class when Hickory senior Matt Bell verbally committed on Tuesday.

Bell (6-3, 275) is a two-year starter on the offensive and defensive line for Hickory. He hails from the same high school as YSU wide receivers coach Andre Coleman, who led Hickory to the Class AA state title in 1989.
