Borders bookstores leaving Niles, Hermitage, Pa.

NILES — Borders announced Monday that it will liquidate all of its stores, and that number includes two area locations.

The Niles location, at 2102 Niles Cortland Road SE, and the Hermitage, Pa. location, 3341 E. State St., will join the 397 other Borders stores that could begin the liquidation process as early as Friday.

The No. 2-ranked bookstore chain the United States is expected to close its doors sometime this fall. Borders employs about 10,700 workers nationwide.
