Car club schedules show in the park

Visitors checked out the cars at the Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club’s 32nd annual Antique and Special Interest Car Show Sunday at Boardman Park.

Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club, Inc., has scheduled “Cars in the Park” from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 7 at Boardman Township Park.

Part of the money raised, plus donations, provides a young person with financial help for medical costs.

Hunter Shaffer is a 4-year-old boy who has refractory epilepsy, a seizure disorder that is not controlled with medication. He must undergo frequent procedures and many hospital stays.

First- and second-place awards will be given in 23 classes. Other awards are Participant’s Choice Award, President’s Choice Award and two Best of Show Trophies. Door prizes, dash plaques, food, a 50-50 drawing and a basket auction also will be featured.

The pre-registration deadline is Aug. 3.

Hunter Shaffer Outdoor Movie Night will take place at 9 p.m. or dark Friday at Yellow Creek Theatre, behind Poland Library, 311 S. Main St.
