YOUNGSTOWN

The Miss Italian Youngs-town beauty and talent pageant has become a tradition at the annual Greater Youngstown Italian Fest.

Since 1985 Anthony C. Julian has organized the pageant, which comprises the elements of modeling, speaking about one’s Italian heritage and displaying a talent.

This year, 10 young women are vying for the title:

The Italian Fest will take place July 29, 30 and 31 in downtown Youngstown. At 5 p.m. July 29, opening ceremonies will kick off the festivities, and the Miss Italian Youngstown Pageant will follow at 7.

A Little King and Queen also will be crowned, and continuous entertainment and fun activities will include Morra and a pasta-eating contest.

The Italian Heritage Foundation of Youngstown, Inc., which hosts the three-day event, promotes all aspects of Italian Heritage and culture and contributes money to charitable foundations.
