More from Eastwood field

Hot at home: Jordan Smith’s first-inning single extended his home hitting streak to 12 games. During that stretch, he has four doubles and 11 RBIs.

Fielding leaders: Entering Friday’s game, two Scrappers led the New York-Penn League in fielding. Second baseman Todd Hankins had a .990 fielding percentage and catcher Alex Lavisky had a .993 fielding percentage.

Attendance: For the second straight night, the Scrappers topped 4,000 in attendance. Thursday’s game attracted 4,550 fans. Friday’s crowd was 4,615.

Scrappers scare: Right fielder Henry Dunn slammed into the wall trying to catch Eugenio Suarez’s triple in the ninth inning. Manager Dave Wallace said Dunn had the wind knocked out of him. “Man, that was hard. I’ve seen a lot of hard hits in my day in football and in baseball. That was one of the hardest — I was very impressed that he was able to popup from that like he did.”

Jammers showdown: The Scrappers will be in Jamestown this weekend for a three-game series. The Scrappers and Jammers are tied for first in the Pinckney Division. The Scrappers opened the season by winning two out of three games against the Jammers.

Right attitude: Wallace was pleased with how his Scrappers handled an early 4-0 deficit in the comeback victory on Thursday. “I’m very happy with how they didn’t get discouraged by the score,” Wallace said. “We talk all the time about picking up quality at-bats, playing every out on defense ... no matter what the score is. Our guys did that tonight.”

Road to Ground Zero: The Ground Zero flag will be presented at Wednesday’s game against the State College Spikes at Eastwood Field. The flag is being taken across America to New York for the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attack. During the game, the flag will be displayed in the main concourse where fans will be able to touch it. The event is part of the Scrappers’ Military Night promotion. Those with military IDs will receive two box seats at the box office.

Anthem guest: Joseph L. Price, Whittier College professor of religious studies, is spending his summer visiting more than 100 minor league ballparks to sing the national anthem. He’ll perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” before Tuesday’s 7:05 p.m. game against State College at Eastwood Field. Price is writing a book on his travels that will be called: “Perfect Pitch: The National Anthem for the National Pastime.”
