Scholarship applications due by Wednesday

YOUNGSTOWN

The Interdenominational Clergywomen Alliance plans to award its first $500 scholarship and is extending an opportunity for 2011 graduating seniors to apply.

To apply, seniors must provide a short biography, complete a 250-word essay on the topic, “Why I Want to Further My Education;” verification of grade point average, must be enrolled in college or vocational technical program no later than spring semester 2012. Applications must be received by Wednesday at ICA’s corporate office at 54 St. Louis Ave., Youngstown, 44507.

ICA will present the scholarship recipient at 5 p.m. Aug. 28 at Christ Dwelling Place Church, 3048 Gerwig Ave. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Kenneth L. Simon, pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church.
