Hazimihalis remains unbeaten with 5th round TKO

Youngstown-area lightweight Chris Hazimihalis (7-0, 6 KOs) defeated Detroit’s Gregory Coverson (3-3) by fifth-round TKO on Friday night.

Coverson came out aggressive in the first two rounds but began to wear down in the third, as Hazimihalis landed some big shots that swelled Coverson’s left eye. Hazimihalis caught Coverson with a big right hand in the fourth round for a knockdown. Although he survived the round, Coverson failed to answer the bell for the fifth.

Hazimihalis said he plans to fight three more times this year.
