Youngstown YMCA hosts triathlon competition Sunday
YOUNGSTOWN — The YMCA’s Adult and Youth Triathlon will put local athletes to the test with three challenging athletic events and a new course. The triathlon will be Sunday at the Central Y, 17 N. Champion St., with the first heat beginning at 7 a.m.
This year’s triathlon features a 500-yard swim in the Y’s pool, a running course throughout Youngstown State University and a new bike course that takes participants through Mill Creek Park.
The youth division is open to participants ages 3-14 and the adult division is open to participants ages 14 and up. Teams can also participate in this year’s event.
Registration fees for children are $18 for members and $24 for all others. Each additional child is $12 for members and $17 for all others. Adult registration fees are $40 for members, $48 for all others and $90 for teams.
To register, visit youngstownymca.org or stop by the Central or Davis Branch in Boardman to pick up registration forms. Registration deadline is noon Friday. No day-of-race registration is available.
