Canfield 2, Elyria East 1 — In the opening game of the Little League (11-12) state softball tournament on Wednesday at Elyria, Bridget Durkin was the winning pitcher, throwing a complete game for Canfield. Maura Kennedy scored both runs and Amelia Manenti had two hits. Canfield was to play Xenia today at noon.

Dave Sugar Excavating 6, Brownlee Lookouts 3 — Jon Anderson went the distance for Sugar, giving up seven and striking out four. G.J. Senchak had four hits, including a double, and had two RBIs. Mike Wittman also had two RBIs, while Tyler Slepski singled twice.
Astro Falcons 3, Northern Ohio Hurricanes 1 — Cody Stokes tossed a complete game for Astro, giving up five hits while striking out seven. Brendan Wells led Astro with three hits.
Dave Sugar Excavating 9, North Coast Vipers 2 — G.J. Senchak picked up the win, giving up six hits in five innings, while striking out nine. Tyler Slepski had two hits and two RBIs, while Cody Herald had two hits. Alex Micklos hit two doubles while Senchak added a double.
Roth Brothers 5, Diamond Boys 3 — Tylor Rhoads tossed a complete game for the win, giving up five hits while striking out eight. Joe Markovich had two hits and two RBIs for Roth while Nick Kolat and Logan Kane each had two hits. Anthony Abeid hit a triple and scored two runs.
Rondinelli Tuxedo 6, Andy’s 9ers 4 — Corey Hickman was the winning pitcher, allowing six hits. Dan Ferguson hit a triple and a double and scored two runs while Hickman helped himself with two hits. Cody Kirk hit a triple.
