Clyde Hudson has been implicated in a courthouse brawl, at one point banned from Youngstown City Hall, and recently convicted of assaulting an officer with a car.
Now, police say Hudson, 25, told officers about crimes he may have committed in the past, including killing someone.
They also said he made references to the location of an arresting officer’s home.
Reports say the incident took place during a drug arrest Tuesday at the West LaClede Avenue home where Hudson lives. Officers Patrick Mulligan and George Anderson were arresting Theatric Jones Jr., 43, on a charge of possession of drugs when the officers reportedly heard Hudson make several statements.
Reports say Hudson told Anderson he liked Anderson’s nice house on the West Side. Anderson has arrested Hudson in the past, and Hudson recently was convicted of assaulting Anderson with a car.
Anderson said he told Hudson he should watch what he says, to which Hudson reportedly replied, “Nobody can touch me. I got a murder under my belt. I get away with everything.”
Hudson, Anderson reported, said three more times that he had killed someone but would say only, “Nobody can touch me,” when officers asked him to elaborate.
A Mahoning County grand jury indicted Hudson earlier this year on charges of felonious assault, improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle and illegal possession of a weapon.
Judge John M. Durkin of common-pleas court found Hudson guilty Wednesday of the felonious-assault and improper-handling charges. The judge found him not guilty of illegal possession of a weapon.
Judge Durkin will sentence Hudson on Aug. 4. He could receive 10 years for the felonious assault and a maximum of 18 months for the improper handling, for a total of 111/2 years in prison.
Prosecutors said Hudson was driving a car and tried to hit Anderson when he was ordered to stop the car so officers could conduct an investigation into a report of shots fired outside a South Side bar.
Police also arrested Hudson after a brawl that occurred after the July 14, 2010, video arraignment of Melvin S. Shaw II in Youngstown Municipal Court. Shaw is accused of killing Tracee Banks, 17, and attempting to kill Jamel Turner, 18, on June 19, 2010.
After the arraignment, as family and friends of the victim and the suspect left the courtroom, an altercation broke out, and dozens of police officers rushed to the scene.
Police said Hudson was a major contributor to the violence taking place after the court proceedings.
Hudson has faced other charges such as domestic violence, obstructing official business, criminal damaging and receiving stolen property.
