US women in WWC soccer finals

GERMANY — The US women defeated France 3-1 in the Women's World Cup soccer semifinal today.

The Americans now will face the winner of the Japan vs. Sweden semifinal match that gets under way later today.

The U.S. women last won the World Cup in 1999.
