Emrick’s one-hitter helps lead Dave Sugar

Bill Emrick pitched five innings of one-hit ball to lead Dave Sugar to a 12-1 win over Longhorns in a Connie Mack state tournament game on Monday at Cene Park.

Sugar, which scored 10 runs in the bottom of the second inning, got two hits from Alex Miklos, Cody Herald, Dane Gecina , John McCormick and Mike Wittman.

Herald, Jeff Revesz and Wittman each had doubles and Miklos added a triple.

Tony Sargnanni had the Longhorns’ lone hit.

Astro Falcons 4, Boys of Summer

Jimmy Coates scored on a single by Brenden Wells in the fifth inning to provide the winning margin for Astro.

Josh Pryor went the distance to get the win. Dan Mioni had two hits and two RBIs.

Derek Frye had three hits for Boys of Summer, while Cody Day added a double.

Andy’s 9er’s 5, Roth Brothers 3

Joe Markovitch and Nick Reinthaler each had RBIs in the two-run fifth but it wasn’t enough for Roth Brothers.

Markovitch finished with two hits and starter J.W. Gora allowed five runs in six innings to get the loss.

Mike Fetchet, Jake Haubrich and Cam Onderko each doubled for Roth Brothers.

For Andy’s, Mike Vernon had two hits and two RBIs, while Colin Angelotti and Jake Ripma each had RBIs in the two-run second.

Angelotti and Vernon each had doubles.

Armoloy 4, Yo. Express 2

Armoloy scored four runs off John Deamicis in the first inning en route to the victory.

Greg Lynn and Brian Smith had RBIs for Express, while Matt Germanski had a triple.

Smith finished with two hits.

For Armoloy, Brandin Wilson had a double and three RBIs.

In other Connie Mack games, Andy’s 9ers won 2-1 over JL Clevelanders and Ohio Orioles defeated Bat Cage 12-3.
