McCartney seeks art for exhibit

Maybe you’ll be moved by Paul McCartney’s shows next weekend at Yankee Stadium. Or perhaps those creative juices have been flowing since you picked up the reissues of “McCartney” and “McCartney II.”

If you’re a graphic designer or illustrator, Sir Paul is inviting you to submit artwork inspired by those two solo albums, the first one released as The Beatles were splitting and “II,” out 10 years later, as Wings met its demise. So pick a song — “Maybe I’m Amazed” from 1970’s “McCartney,” maybe? Or the techy “Temporary Secretary” from 1980’s “II”? — and do your art thing.

If Macca selects it, you could have your project exhibited in the “Idea Generation” gallery in London.

“Have fun with this competition,” McCartney said in a statement. “I look forward to seeing the amazing artwork that you are all going to produce and I encourage you to feel free and basically have a scribbling good time.”

So, get scribbling. The deadline for submissions is Aug. 16. A winner will be announced Sept. 14. Visit talenthouse.com for additional in formation.
