Teen struck by vehicle at New Castle Fireworks Festival

NEW CASTLE

A vehicle struck a 19-year-old, female pedestrian Saturday night during the city’s annual Fireworks Festival.

She was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown in critical condition and later flown to a Pittsburgh hospital.

The type of her injuries were not released as of Sunday night.

The accident occurred on East Washington Street around 10:45 p.m., according to police.

The police continue to investigate.
