Counterfeit bills found in Ohio restaurant trash

BLUE ASH, Ohio (AP) — Three large boxes of $100 counterfeit bills have been found in a trash bin behind a suburban Cincinnati restaurant by the restaurant’s manager.

The manager of Sammy’s Gourmet Burgers & Beers in Blue Ash says he found the fake bills on Saturday when he noticed the boxes stuffed into the bin.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that manager Matt Blackburn says he thought the money was real until he saw words and numbers were missing from the bills. He says there were too many bills to count.

Blackburn says he called Blue Ash police. Police Capt. Jim Schaffer says the investigation was turned over to the U.S. Secret Service.
