Girard Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Amen Corner, 20 W. Main St. July birthdays and anniversaries will be celebrated, pizza will be served, and bingo and cards will be played.
Golden Pillars will have an 11 a.m. liturgy prior to a noon meeting Tuesday at St. Mary’s Assumption Social Center, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. Mary Novak will preside, birthdays and anniversaries will be observed, and cards and bingo will be played. Members are asked to take their own table setting for the luncheon.
Happy Wanderers will have a carry-in dinner meeting Friday. Those whose last names begin with A-J are asked to take salads; K-P, desserts; and Q-Z, covered dishes (some need to include meats). Guitarist Chuck Thorpe will present oldies music. The group is hosting the following tours this year: Bill Cosby at Lake Chautauqua on Aug. 27; “Art, Arms and Animals” on Sept. 20; Senior Saints at Elkhorn on Sept. 21; The Red Barn Players’ presentation of “Anything Goes” (Cole Porter music) on Sept. 29; Mystery Tour on Oct. 14; Dickens Victorian Village & Coal Miner’s Christmas Train Ride on Nov. 11; and Jeff and Sheri Easter at Hartville Kitchen on Dec. 1. J.C. Penney Retirees will have their picnic beginning at 12:30 Tuesday at the Chester Long Pavilion in Boardman Park. Members are to take place settings and a covered dish or dessert to share.
Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Patty Perio will give the devotions. Members will celebrate summer with a covered dish luncheon at noon. St. Anthony Senior Club will have a picnic Tuesday at Tod Park in Girard. Coffee and doughnuts will be available at 10 a.m., and the meal will be served at noon. The committee comprises Marian and Steve Degenaro, Mary Ann Julian and Mike Sovik.
St. Brendan’s 60-Plus Club will meet at noon Monday for a Mass for all deceased seniors. Coffee and doughnuts and a meeting will be after Mass. Ann Smith will preside, and Dorothy Proceck and Dorothy LoSasso will give reports. Cards and bingo will be played after the meeting. New members are welcome. St. Joseph Goldenagers will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Lyons Hall with Evelyn Menaldi presiding. Carol McClain will read the thought for the day, and the secretary will give reports. Members are asked to take a sack lunch; refreshments will be served. Cards will be played, and there will be a 50-50 raffle. Birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged, and get-well cards will be sent to members who are sick.
