Scrappers hang on for road win

WILLIAMSPORT, PA.
The Mahoning valley Scrappers grabbed an early 4-0 lead then had to hold off the Williamsport Crosscutters in the ninth inning for Saturday’s 4-3 victory in New York-Penn League action.
The win keeps the Scrappers (14-9) a game behind first-place Jamestown (15-8) in the Pinckney Division standings.
Danny Jiminez (1-0) earned the victory, scattering four hits and allowing one run in the five innings he pitched.
Tony Dischler and Will Krasne combined for three innings of shutout relief while Enosil Tejada earned his second save, allowing two runs off one hit and a walk in the ninth inning.
Four consecutive singles by Tony Wolters, Jake Lowery, Jordan Smith and John Barr gave the Scrappers a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
Wolters contributed a RBI single in the second inning as the Scrappers added two runs.
